 Our
Colin the Kiwi inspired red bean bags are designed
for young children to use with our many bean-bag
songs. However they can also be successfully used
in all situations when bean-bags are suggested.
Bean
bags provide opportunities for much skill development,
particularly hand/eye co-ordination, hand/finger
development, body awareness, perceptual skills
and rhythm and timing skills. The bean-bags are made
of poly-cotton fabric so that they do not slide
when
placed on body parts, their rectangular shape
also aids the draping and catching. They have a plastic
fill that makes them easy to wash and dry.
As
an addition some teachers have made removable covers
for our basic bean bags that provide extra sensory
stimulation (satin, fluffy fabric, woollen fabric,
plastic) but are easy to launder.
